Every month I sit at my desk and write a letter that could never live on social media.
I write about the archetype of the month – the Leader, the Protector, the Patron, the Rebel, the Muse, the Sovereign – and the very real decisions we’re all making: boundaries, visibility, money, responsibility, love, legacy, self-respect.
These are growth letters, not lectures. A few pages you can read in one sitting and return to when the month gets heavy.

Mail art—also called correspondence art—has lived inside museums and archives for decades.
The Portrait Letter Club is my contemporary version: an editioned artwork, delivered by post.
Why it matters
These envelopes are giving you:
a visible anchor – the portrait card on your desk or bedside table
a different lens – the letter that asks, gently, “Who is really making this decision? Which version of you?”
It’s not tips.
It’s perspective.
It’s self-respect.
Over time, the envelopes become a small archive of your own becoming:

Letters that plant trees
Every envelope also plants a tree.
For each letter I mail, I fund the planting of one tree through carefully chosen reforestation projects. For every full year you’re in the club, that means 12 trees per member – one for every month I write to you.
When this tier is full at 1,000 members, we’ll be planting 1,000 trees every month – 12,000 trees every year – a small forest growing quietly alongside this club.
Studio work should not cost the earth; I’m a tree-hugger at heart and will choose a new location each year so every cycle of letters grows its own little forest.

I’ve spent years in studios, at fairs and in collectors’ homes, watching how people actually live with art: how they hang it, how they talk to it, how it quietly changes them over time.
My work lives between old-master discipline and contemporary psychology. I care about light, composition and line – and just as much about your self-image, your boundaries and the roles you walk into when you lead, protect, love and build.
The Portrait Letter Club is where I step out of the gallery voice and become your penpal. Once a month, I write to you as a human who is also figuring out how to move through this world with integrity, ambition and a soft heart.

How It Works

JOIN THE CLUB
Choose your membership (monthly or annual) and complete checkout.
Annual memberships run for 12 consecutive months from the day you join and renew on that same date each year.
Monthly studio mailing
Once a month, I print, sign and number that month’s archetype art prints, write the studio letter, and mail your envelope from Germany. Shipping worldwide is included – and for every letter I send, one tree is planted.
Open, read, live with it
When your envelope arrives, take a few quiet minutes to open it, read the letter and place the print where you’ll see it. Let it walk through the month with you.

Is this “JUST mail” or “serious art”?
Both. These are small works, but they’re part of my real practice – part of an ongoing archetype series. Every print is signed, limited to 1000, and archived in my studio records.

Will the same print be reissued later?
No. The same portrait or motif may appear in larger works or exhibitions, but the A6 postcard in club format for that month is exclusive and not reprinted.

Where do you ship?
From Germany, worldwide. Shipping is included in your Club membership, and for each letter I mail, one tree is planted.
Is this only for people “who know about art”?
Is this connected to ‘mail art’?
No. If you love reflection, stories and the feeling of being taken seriously, you’re ready. The letters are written in human language, not theory.
Yes—in the historical sense: artists have used the postal system as a legitimate medium since the mid-20th century, and institutions have documented it as a serious practice.
This Club is my studio’s refined, collectible interpretation.

Do members get priority for originals and commissions?
Members are the first to hear about new originals, print releases and portrait commission slots each year. If you already have a commission in mind, the Club places you at the front of the line with priority booking.
How many members will there be at this tier?
A maximum of 1,000 members worldwide. When it’s full, new sign-ups go onto a waitlist until a place opens.
