‘There are two points I connect in a portrait. I grasp the inner beauty of a person and bring their physical image into alignment with their inner self.’
– Atlanta Weiss
Atlanta Weiss is an international visual artist researching the topic of IDENTITY, IMAGE and REPUTATION.
Her cultural background is enriched by Russia, Germany and the United Kingdom. Born into a family of artists and art entrepreneurs, she has been focusing on portraits from an early age. With early first steps in commissioning in oil on canvas she had her first solo exhibition at the Deutsche Bank (Cologne, D) at the age of 21.
During her studies at the Peter Behrens School of Arts (Dusseldorf, Germany) her passion for portraits led her to photography under professor Gerhard Vormwald. During this time she won the National Geographic Award in the category People.
Her portraits capture the beautiful and honourable essence of individuals. This value can bring daily joy and strengthen the link between generations, be it in a private or corporate setting.
Atlanta’s concepts combine the contemporary Zeitgeist with the traditional academic elements. She thinks in oil on canvas and through a camera lens. Her studio is currently based in Cologne, Germany.
